ACHIEVED (Anne and Greg)

Anne, our friend announced that she's getting married and we'll be part of it. Being part of it means you're going to wear something that I'm not used to wear and all those colored stuffs for your face which I'm not comfortable of doing yet I did (my pleasure ann, y char, haha). I never knew that it's just that. They're preparing their marriage apart, she was in Taiwan and her fiance was in Canada which was a bit difficult for them to have all these stuffs done. So we had our Bayanihan101. We relied so much on facebook to communicate with her to have all these stuff get ready. So, the following photos were the preparation that we had (other preparations were made by Ann's family), on the wedding day and after .

we designed the invitation through photoshop and was transferred to corel draw to have it printed

Temple of Leah and Best Western Sandbar were two of the venues they've chosen for their prenup shots courtesy of our photographer Dave and two of our beautiful mates Maffey and Jaja

and we made a slideshow out of the shoots that they had through sony vegas

finally, i was able to use it

i don't own this photo

earlier this evening,i went to see my friends in a videoke house. when i got inside, there were two men and a lady standing beside the cashier stati0n. one of the men called out my name, as if he was surprised to see me. i was surprised too. i do quite remember his face and his voice but where did i meet this man?

i didn't give him an idea that i wasn't sure what's his name. as he was talking, i f0und out that we used to work in the same c0mpany bef0re but i still d0n't recall his name. i wanted to ask w/o offending him. so, i was like "what's y0ur name?". i was praying that he would tell me his last name first bec that's how I used to call them, luckily he did and i was like "noooh, i mean your first name" and he said it without knowing that i just remembered his complete name after he mentioned it. i heaved an imaginary big sigh after that. so, i have his c0mplete name w/o him having a clue that somehow i forgot his complete name. i bade him goodbye quickly because i figured i was in a wrong videoke house.

Younger Years Were Priceless

I came home too early from work and I fell asleep when I was awoke by the loud noises of the kids playing outside. I was a annoyed by it and I was wanting to get up but I tried not to and was wanting to get back to sleep. As I was trying my luck to fall asleep again and tried to ignore the noises outside, suddenly, time flew me back when I and my friends were making the same noises on the same ground. I tried to ignore that thought.

I tried to ignore that thought but somehow there's a bit of a pinch in my heart. I saw us and it's like we're loving life and I can't see any marks of negativity in the air and I realized that those younger years were amazing. We're outside playing from morning till afternoon and goes home in the midst of the day for lunch during summer and we only had the afternoon to play when it's school days. We've got loads of different outdoor games before and we can play a single game for an hour or two and we sweat all day long and smelled like we never had a bath for a week and we didn't care because we're literally having fun and having a good time. And we laughed out loud until we're gasping for air to breathe and those noises echoed in the neighborhood until now. And what we're only worried about was when the sun rested in the west mountains suggesting us to go home and retire. The young years of my life were the coolest experience I had in the past and they were priceless and they can't be exchanged for anything.

Did you also have a good time in your younger years? How was it like before?

You Are Special

If you happen to ask yourself if you're special and your answer is NO and you don't even feel like you are, well, then you must've been wrong all this time. Being special is not always at anyone's comfort. It is when you look yourself in the mirror and there you are standing in front yourself beautifully shaped by the time. You are special with all of your flaws attached to your being.

Each individual is made by his own uniqueness. So, you as a person is different from the rest. The thing is, what makes you more special is that you are created by God Himself like His image and along with it is His love for you. You are special with whatever you are right now. It's so sad that some people have no idea that they are and they end up wasting the opportunity of being special.

God's greatest gift to us is the life that we have now. Life's journey is not easy, it's bumpy and it's a crooked road ahead and you got to learn how to ride with it. Along the way, you will be molded the way you never thought you would be. And as you look again in the mirror, there you see the man who have gone through a lot and yet still standing firm and humble. Basically, all of what you are or all of what you're made of makes you special. So acknowledge your being for you are one true special.

When It Rains

It's July and it's rainy season. I love the rain. I don't know exactly how I come to love it. It's just that it's serenity for me when it rains and I love every single sound of it when it drops. My friends and I used to get wet under the rain when we were younger and stroll every corner in the neighborhood. And it's been awhile that I haven't done something great like that. I have been wanting to do the same thing lately but don't have the chance to because i'm usually at work or at school or I'm at somewhere not at home when it rains, arrrrggghhh.

Lucky I am today, it's a Sunday, I'm at home and it's pouring so I took the chance to get myself soaked in the rain twice as in twice, yeheeeeeeeeeeeyyy, however, I wasn't able to capture a photo of myself getting soaked. And I don't know what to say except there were my happiest moments of the day.

Sumilon Island

it is the warmest time of the day but I can't say NO to this body of water that surr0unds the island and my being. i d0n't want to get out fr0m d water bec it was the m0st beautiful feeling at the time being though i always wish to escape every inch of sun's heat.

indeed, the unrelenting heat of the sun was making us fragile and yet we can't aff0rd to decline the water's alluring beauty. th0ugh the waves are way bigger and are pushing y0u sideward, i still can't resist its charm.

and all u can see acr0ss the island are m0untain ranges and blue waters. darn, it is so beautiful. i d0n't want to blink my eyes for i want to see its beauty every sec0nd.

finally, they decided to go h0me and so i let go of my obsessi0n.

PS. Ed's (colleague) family who's preparing our meals while in Oslob has a smell of amazing hospitality. Thanks a lot.

Aguinid Falls

lemme tell you a very short story:

photos by Janeth Destura

Once a upon a time, there was a young man named Aguinid. One day, he was looking for firewoods but he got lost somewhere here (see photos above)  and was never found. So, this falls was named after him, Aguinid falls (thanks sa info Rhod).

So, the thing that we had there was extremely fun, exciting and hilarious. It is hiliarious because we had no idea what's the waterfalls looks like and what adventure to expect, no we never even bothered to get the name of the falls just so to google it. We even thought that it's just around the corners of Oslob but it's two towns away; we went through Santander, the southern most part of Cebu and then to Samboan, where it's situated.

When we got there, we parked the vehicle in the most side of their basketball court so locals can play on the other side. Then, there was this little girl who came running to us and greeted us with her biggest smile and loundest "hi" and she even raised her right hand and with those tiny fingers and palm suggesting for a high five and with amazement I raised my hand to meet hers. I was flabbergasted and I was like "is she sure?". Yep, she is. I asked her mom about her politeness and she's like "she does the same thing to every visitor, she may know them or not." She made a difference so I took the chance of taking her a couple of photos.

As we move along, we found out that this falls has 6 levels, from 0 to 5. It involves a lot of climbing on huge rocks where the water is falling.

photos by Janeth Destura

The water is greenish blue and cold and clean and all you wanna do is swim because there's this gravity that pulls you to the water.

There are a couple of wall rocks to climb, it may not seemed easy but you'll be left behind if you don't dare yourself to and you'll miss the thing called adventure. On level 5, we climb on a wall rock. It's somehow difficult. Why? You have to climb where the water is falling on your face, you could hardly see as you need to look for handholder and footholder on the wall to lift yourself up. I earned a scratch on my left knee bec the guide asked me to get into this little passage without telling me how to, (haaaaay kuya ntawn).

Nevertheless, I had a great time and the photos that we took would surely tell that we really had one.

PS. The guides are very accomodating, really.

Mahal Q

Thank you for letting me part of your story since day 0, zero means how the Dondon expressed his interest to the Nida way back those younger years and how she ignores everything then. And we wake up now and you guys are married. I’ve witnessed a lot, we’ve been through a lot and each moment became memories that are worth to be kept.

May you continue to love each other always and forever. You pushed me through to believe that love is stronger than the strongest force in the universe. I pray that the Almighty God bless you both and your marriage. I love you both J
